The minister for defence, Mikael Odenberg will resign. This was announced at a press conference today.  Odenberg disagrees with the government’s decision to reduce the funds for the military. He claims that to cut the funds with 3-4 billion SEK would undermine his analyse of the future structure and tasks for the Swedish military.  The military would not be capable of participating in operations with the UN and EU to the same extent.

The minister of trade, Sten Tolgfors, will become new minister for defence
