Metro station evacuated after smoke development (updated)

Local News | 2009-09-05

All metro traffic in central Stockholm is closed down at the moment due to flow of smoke at T-centralen (central station). The smoke came from a burning work train used for the construction of Citybanan, the new track for commuter trains. No one is reported to have been injured. T-centralen has been evacuated.

Update: Extra buses are replacing the metro in the city. Vasagatan is closed for traffic but the City terminal and the central station for national and regional trains are open.

Update 2: At half past two in the afternoon, the traffic is on again but the trains are not yet stopping at T-centralen.
