Big delays in train traffic

There have been many passengers stuck at the central station in Stockholm tonight. A broken train south of the city stopped many other southbound trains from the central station, leading to delayed and cancelled departures.

When things like this happens, the consequences are often rather severe for the traffic due an under dimensioned infrastructure system. The city lane (sw: Citybanan) is meant to solve this problem in the long run.

The Rail Administration also had problems with the electric signs and loudspeakers at the Stockholm central station which made it difficult for people to find the right track for their trains reports the Swedish public service radio
