Car explosion at gas station

News in short | 2010-01-30

A car exploded yesterday at a gas station near The Ericsson Globe Arenas in Stockholm. The car was standing at a pump when the explosion occurred. One person became unconscious and is seriously injured. Another person has received shrapnel injuries but is conscious. The damage to the car is complete. "That something like this happens is extremely rare," said chief fire officer Mikael Lundh. The reason for the explosion was that the car had illegally been modified to run on LPG, but the driver tried to fill it with ordinary vehicle gas. (SVT/DN)
