Medvedev: "Sweden protects bandits”

News in short | 2010-03-09

The Russian President Medvedev blames Sweden for protecting Chechen terrorists. This in response to that Sweden's PM Reinfeldt raised the issue of human rights in Russia. Sweden has in recent years refused to extradite two Chechen men who are accused of terrorism by Russia. “I expect constructive cooperation with our Swedish colleagues on this matter”, the President said. Reinfeldt arrived today in Russia to discuss everything from bureaucratic reforms to space research. (SVT)
