Around 60 fire fighters are working to extinguish the fire which is believed to have started in one of the university’s lecture halls. There was for a while a big risk that the fire would spread but that risk seems to be reduced at the moment.

One of the main priorities now is to save the computer servers containing most students' final thesis.

Several streets in the neighborhood are closed and smoke can been seen in large parts of the Östermalm district.
