The county administrative board of Stockholm has initiated a scrutiny of the Norwegian Nobel Committee. The main question is whether the Norwegian Nobel Committee really act according to the will of Alfred Nobel when they appoint the Nobel Peace Prize laurates. This reports daily Dagens Nyheter.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has been criticised for awarding to Peace Prize to politicians who in fact are waging wars like Barack Obama and Henry Kissinger. The Nobel Committee was also criticised for appointing Al Gore which focuses on the environment and not peace and disarmament issues.

The reason behind the rather peculiar situation that the regional county administrative board of Stockholm is about to scrutinise the Nobel Committe of Norway is that the board manages the scrutiny of all foundations in the county. One of them is the Nobel Foundation.

Not surprised. Many people feel the Peace Prize is indeed Politics Prize, which is not serious. Hope the investigation can end up with something.

The prize to Obama was a scandal! He got it before his main time as President...I have nothing against him but the fact that he got the prize before he was put up to the test. Now we have seen that the number of murde...sorry military actions with drones have increased a lot from the American military in Afghanistan. Perhaps wise militarily but not according to Nobel´s will I think...
